Well, Chris and I have decided something.
Okay, technically I decided something and he has no say.
For those of you who caught General Conference...did you notice how much they mentioned service? And I thought to myself, Hey, you know what? Lets start a monthly service project! The only problem is now I need ideas. I want Chris & I to be able to do something to serve others each month...whether it be making dinner for a new mom or helping out a friend in need. These ideas don't have to be elaborate or huge...here are a few we've come up with so far:
- Treat another couple or some friends to dinner.
- Take food to someone who needs it. (Yaaay for door-bell ditching!)
- Shovel snow (more for winter-time)
And that's about it.
You see why I need help.
Please please give us your ideas???

Donate blood...if you're not too squeamish around needles. :p
Visit an old widow or widower...I don't know if you have any in your ward or anything, but generally they love to talk.
Wash someone's car...or even just leave a note of encouragement on their windshield.
Invite someone to go roller skating...or to a play or something, just giving people a reason to get out and enjoy life is a service,I think.
That's a great goal, wish you the best!
Those are great ideas! Thanks so much...and you actually reminded me of one I've always wanted to do--pay for the next car at the drive-thru!
ReplyDeleteIf you want to do something that is a bit more committed, you could volunteer with the Southern Utah Mobile Crisis Team, or at Canyon Creek Women's Crisis Center, or on campus at the Center for Women and Families. Also going and visiting the residents at Oasis House. These organizations are always looking for volunteers.
